Founded in 1881 by the Marist Brothers, St Joseph’s College is a boarding and day secondary boys’ school, whose Catholic identity is shaped by Marist spirituality and traditions. Governed by Marist Schools Australia, the College enrolment is approximately 1,100 students.

 

Community Relations Manager

 

 Full-time, ongoing. Immediate start or by mutual agreement

 

St Joseph’s College has a proud tradition of genuine, deep and far-reaching relationships with its broad community. This involves Old Boys, past and current parents and supporters of the College.

 

In this light, the College seeks to appoint an experienced professional to take responsibility of the role of Community Relations Manager. The successful candidate will be is responsible for developing, enhancing and nurturing positive and supportive relationships across the broad College family that contribute to a strong sense of community and collective commitment to the College’s mission and ethos.

 

In a broad sense, the successful candidate in part will work with Parents and Friends’ Association executive and their delegates. Further links and the development of strong positive working relationships with executives of the Old Boys’ Union, and Past Parent Associations is critical. Supporting communications with the College community and managing all conferences and events are also paramount to the role.


The successful candidates will possess stakeholder engagement and management experience, with relevant Qualifications and/or experience. Event management including sales and co-ordination as well as negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills are critical to the role.

 

A collegial & collaborative approach as a member of a successful team is essential.

An appreciation for the diversity of the College community and support for the Marist ethos are paramount to the role.
